Well, this is what happens when you try to make chocolate chip cookies in an Indian kitchen, even if it is eqipped with an "electric tandoor". I was so sure I could do it, but then the chocolate chips in the batter melted, and the tandoor only has an on or off setting, so the heat wasn't exactly under my control. i was a little demoralized about this.

i remember when i tried to make my grandmother's sweet potato casserole for thanksgiving in an indian toaster oven.

First- they didnt have sweet potatoes- but we improvised with pumpkin-- second my grandmother's always was crispy on top. this one was sgooey- it never cooked enough and we kept it in the toaster for 6 hours until we gave up.

It was super sweet though and the cooks amazingly loved it.

I was surprised-- my flatmates also were willing to eat a surprising number of these cookies.

my big question is 1) where did you find chocolate chips and 2) were they melted when you bought them.

pardon my new writing style of 1)s and 2)s it is a habit you form in law school
